In the early to mid 90s, with the rise of the personal computer (PC) in the UK - schoolfriends Mark, Chris, Owain & Adrian created QBasic games & software. After various collaborative efforts (such as Danger Zone and Impact Entertainment) it was 1997 when Mark solidified Screen 7 as a videogame studio "plan". With an interest in point & click adventures and lots of inspiration during the LucasArts hey-dey, Screen 7 endeavoured to produce similar intrigue with projects like "Broken Glass". But DOS, floppy disks & Pentium 486s would be consigned to history.
With the advent of dial-up internet at the turn of the millenium, Screen 7 strengthened its plans with an online website. Discovery of the Adventure Game Studio community, QBasic programming was dropped in favor of the more streamlined process in the AGS engine by Chris Jones. During this period, alongside writing for some time an ezine (AGDzine) for adventure developers, Screen 7 focussed on providing MIDI music to other game designers including Yahtzee, Mike Doak and Rodekill. In 2006 our Fountain of Youth fan-game demo was widely praised.
With a desire to use the knowledge and experience gained to this point and exlpore other avenues, Screen 7 began trading as a small publisher, helping other AGS developers bring their games to a wider audience - including The Cat Lady and The Samaritan Paradox. Probably the most notable period in its history to this point, Screen 7 also started the AdventureX event that sees adventure game developers unite with game demonstrations and talks - and continues to this day in London, England. But all of these side projects were taking their toll on the primary goal...
With a move to the Unity engine and a keen itch to return to the very reason Screen 7 was founded all those years ago - focus has shifted back to in-house game development. With creations Dumbass Drivers! and Mr. Maze leading the way, a new era of original games, interesting stories & fun adventures lay ahead. Screen 7 is and has always been as much of an evolving hobby and educational experience as it has any kind of company - so thank you for your patience & support! :)

Welcome to the Screen 7 website!
It works fine in Chrome...you may need to refresh it occasionally in some other browsers if the top menu acts a bit funny! Sorry about that.
Since our last major update, we've released Downfall remake - thank you to everyone who pre-ordered a copy here and has since bought it! The game has been quite well received and has certainly been a good release from our point of view. No more than a month or two after its release, R. Michalski began working on a new game called Lorelai. Although little information is known about the game right now, you can be certain to see a page here soon, Steam Greenlight and other media popping up (especially on our Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages!). Both Screen 7 and Harvester Games appreciate your support!
We've noticed that the prices of our products sometimes fluctuate through the Humble Widgets. We've set them to show you the price in your country, but this means the price fluctuates according to the dollar equivalent (Humble's main currency). We apologize if some of the prices don't match the pages on the site - we are checking them at least every fortnight to be sure they match the prices listed on this site. We now have a couple of games on the Humble Store itself and our full catalogue continues to be supported fully on Steam. Wherever you buy our games from - thank you!
It's almost time for Tales, a brand new game by Ape Marina! It's actually been quite a tricky one to work with and we've spent the last few months voicing it (thanks to Elissa for her editing work) and its translations (thank you to Alexander, Julien, Konni & Andrea+co) along with all its Steam items. We aim to have it released on November 14th, so very soon - and there's still a few things left to do! But the game is a really charming & memorable traditional point & click adventure and thank you to everyone who has been keeping a keen eye on its release. Visit the Premier Games section from the menu above and check the Tales page - you can now pre-order the game!
I have been working on Kinky Island and Dumbass Drivers in small pockets of time between Tales and Downfall duties. Both games have seen good progress, but it won't be until after Tales release that I can start to dedicate the majority of my time to completing them.
Thank you for visiting and being interested in what we do! Til next time...
