REPORTS
APRIL 2008: SUNDAY 6th
Heavy snow covered many parts of the UK after flurries swept across the country during the night. Many woke up to find a good 4 to 6 inches of snow. Though cold, the weather remained glorious throughout & most of the snow had melted by the end of the day. A freakish occurence perhaps, since days before and after have been warm & sunny?

MARCH 2008: FRIDAY 28th
The MET office state that 2008 will have much more natural storm cycles (in the UK) this summer. By this, they anticipate that for every few hot days, we will have thunderstorms afterwards. There were few thunderstorms of particular interest last year so hopefully they will be more intense this year! We will be keeping our eyes peeled for a good storm and maybe even some tornadic activity!

MARCH 2008: 9th-11th
A large storm battered many parts of the UK, especially southern coastal areas, causing widespread damage as gusts of winds reached 70mph. The ferocious storm swept across the country for almost 3 days, but missed Oxfordshire!

JUNE 2007: TUESDAY 19th
Hyperactive thunderstorm which swept North Easterly over France and England. I observed the storm from home, and although it did not pass directly over our town I was able to see many strikes of lightning, both cloud to cloud (CC) and cloud to ground (CG). There were some spectacular moments! The sky was strobing at points, but the thunder was much more infrequent. Very rare rumbles but some of them were extremely powerful & lengthy!

On driving toward the rear of the storm at roughly 4 o'clock, I continued to enjoy the lightning from a good distance. The wind had certainly picked up during the storm & there was a significant amount of debris in the roads in various places near Stadhampton.

I beleive a tornado was sighted in Cornwall on the same day.

<-- The sferics (see data) show us how the storm moved across north & central France and southern & central England. There was a high frequency of strikes across the entire storm.
